Nassif Hitti
About Dr. Nassif Hitti is a Senior Advisor to the Arab and International Affairs Program at IFI. Prior to his assignment as Lebanon's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants in January 2020 (having resigned in August 2020, a few days before the Beirut Port blast), Hitti was Professor of International Relations and Middle Eastern Studies at USEK (2016-2020), as well as the Director of USEK's Higher Institute of Political and Administrative Studies (2016-2019). From 2014-2015, he was the Ambassador Head of Mission of the League of Arab States (LAS) to Italy and the Holy See, as well as the LAS Permanent Observer to UN Organizations in Rome. Hitti also served as the advisor and personal spokesperson of the Secretary General of the LAS (2013-2014) and LAS Ambassador Head of Mission in France, Permanent Observer to UNESCO and the OIF from 2000-2013.
